1966 LAMBRETTA SX200 - Brown Sugar

This is Brown Sugar. This beautiful 1966 Italian SX was a barn find from a local boy in Somerset. The SX was very tired and needed a complete restoration.
This scooter has a TS1 motor which was run in an old series 1 Framebreather and hence was a cracking engine so it was a no brainer for the SX. The barrel was done by Mark Broadhurst who is also a magician. It has a 30 mm PHBH Dellorto carb for reliability and fuel efficiency.
It has an essential semi hydraulic Nissin disc brake on the front which is needed due to the power. Also has a 62 mm crank BGM box pipe AF cassette clutch on Gran Turismo cases set up easily for touring.
The paint exaggerates the beautiful panels by Innocenti. The gold plating is 24 carat gold and was a couple of thousand on its own. The paint used was VW Caspian Brown and the metal Flake is a House of kolor which you cannot buy anymore. The flake is a mixture of 5 golds and was tried many times to get the effect you see.
In the light of day, this scooter blows you away!
The seat is based on the Pegasus design and is very comfortable.
